Since his artistic debut in 2021, Hunter Biden has raked in nearly $1.3 million from the sale of his paintings—but the identities of some of his biggest buyers are raising questions about the validity of those sales. According to a new report, one of his gallery’s first sales was to a major Democrat donor who was also appointed to a prestigious commission by President Joe Biden, Elizabeth Hirsh Naftali.

As Business Insider reported, LA real estate investor Elizabeth Hirsh Naftali has been identified as one of the first people to purchase Biden’s paintings. Naftali previously donated more than $200,000 to the Biden campaign ahead of the 2020 election and $30,000 to the Democratic National Committee this year alone. In July 2022, several months after the gallery’s opening, President Biden selected Naftali for the Commission for the Preservation of America’s Heritage Abroad.

Additional documentation reveals that an unidentified party bought 11 paintings for a combined total of $875,000 in the single-largest purchase the gallery has seen to date.

At this time, it is unknown whether Naftali made the purchase before or after her commission appointment, but the timing has raised suspicions, especially given that Eric Schwerin, Biden’s longtime business partner, served in the same post in 2015.

When Biden’s art was first put up for sale, representatives said that the identities of prospective buyers would be withheld from Biden, preventing any political ramifications for himself or the president. President Biden promised to maintain an “absolute wall” between his office and any business conducted by his family, but allegations that the art sales have been nothing but a thinly-veiled influence peddling scheme have called that promise into question.

The Insider report comes amid an ongoing Congressional probe into Hunter Biden’s alleged crimes and potential corruption within the Biden Department of Justice.
