The cost of a year of tuition and associated fees for attending SUNY at Buffalo is roughly $34,000.  You’d think that for that price tag, a parent could feel safe sending their child to campus without worrying about being attacked by illegal immigrants.

SUNY at Buffalo had been housing 44 migrants in student dorms after making a deal with a local community group, which would sound shocking if sanity prevailed in this country. After parents went ballistic after at least two alleged sexual assaults were reported involving migrants, the school evicted them.

The university’s president Bonita Durand released a carefully worded statement that said, “As we are welcoming our students back to campus Tuesday, we wanted to ensure the best possible learning environment for our students and smooth functioning of our university operations. I made the difficult decision to discontinue the revocable permit and want to reassure our university community that as our students return to campus Tuesday, they will find their learning environment as they expected,”

Wow, that was so self-serving; she made Al Gore’s claim of inventing the internet seem humble and understated.

The two reported incidents of sexual assault are chilling. On August 8, a migrant from Venezuela was charged with raping a woman in front of her 3-year-old child. This happened after the migrant went to Erie County near Buffalo, and the city of New York was reportedly paying for his hotel room there.

On August 11, a migrant from the Republic of Congo was arrested and charged with sex abuse and unlawful imprisonment. He allegedly raped a woman who was working with a community agency that provided services to migrants.

New York City has spent over $1.2 billion paying for illegal immigrants since last summer. The city is paying for 55,00 of them to be housed and fed. It is a dangerous and unmitigated disaster, and the state has almost 2,000 National Guard members helping with the crisis.
