Artificial Intelligence is becoming more advanced, and many companies are finding ways to integrate tech into their everyday workflow. The tech marketing and PR agency Codeword may have figured out how to replace some of its temporary staff. The agency has “hired” two AI interns. The AI interns are powered by the recently popular AI tool ChatGPT.

What are the AI interns capable of doing?

The two interns are AI algorithms named Aiko and Aiden. The algorithms were able to create their own images and named themselves. Aiko and Aiden are given tasks as if they were human interns. Aiden’s responsibilities are ghostwriting, collecting information from top news stories, and analyzing voice and tone for the editorial team. Aiko’s job is to create brand designs and large volumes of concept thumbnails that the company’s design team can build upon.

What’s the goal?

Aiko and Aiden will work for Codeword for three months. During that time, they will be given more assignments as the agency learns their capabilities. The agency’s goal is to ultimately see how they can better enhance their product while increasing productivity by giving time-consuming tasks to AI tools. The “interns” will help them determine what AI can make possible for creatives and what still requires human input.

If you’re concerned this technology could replace a few jobs, it is likely that some jobs will be replaced. AI experts say the technology can produce the same level of work that an inexperienced employee can. However, this can change as more studies are done, and advancements continue.

The founding partner for Codeword was quoted in a PRWeek article saying, “Budgets and head counts are getting cut. We’re going to be under pressure to reform our processes this year with or without AI. If AI can help us, then great-we should embrace it.”
