China and the NBA have a pretty chummy relationship. Same thing with other big corporations, including Disney, That’s wonderful for these companies when they are raking in profits and opening up lovely new revenue streams. But there is a hitch — considering China is our number 1 enemy.
Mike Gallagher is a republican Congressman from Wisconsin and was named the chair of the House Select committee on Strategic Competition between the United States and the Chinese Communist Party. And guess what? Gallagher knows who wants to destroy us, and he wants to get a handle on what the companies are thinking and hold them accountable, according to the Washington Examiner.
He specifically mentioned two names; NBA commissioner Adam Silver and Disney CEO Bob Iger.
Oh, and Silver may want to prepare because this won’t be an interview from a fawning ESPN host — Gallagher isn’t playing around.
“Consider this me giving them the initial warning order that they’ll have to testify before the committee.”
And if you are wondering if this committee can get anything done, the 16-person committee has nine Republicans.
Iger will have tough questions to answer too. He oversees ESPN, essentially an extension of the progressive side of American politics and a company that many people are heavily influenced by the Chinese Communist party and essentially their dictator/president.
