Joe Biden is really old, so maybe he is equal parts bummed and confused that the Four Horsemen of Notre Dame didn’t win the national championship in college football this past season.  At least that would be a better reason for rudely neglecting the Georgia Bulldogs and not offering them an invite to the White House— for the second year in a row!

I’m not sure what it is with Mr. and Mrs. Biden and college teams, but they are making this a lot more complicated than it needs to be.  Just last month, Jill Biden invited the Iowa Hawkeyes women’s basketball team — even though they lost the national championship game to LSU. And it’s a mystery why Joe is dissing the Dawgs; maybe he thinks they are made up of Trump or DeSantis supporters.

Last year Georgia got stiffed because of Covid protocols, and this time they were just ignored, so a handful of congressmen and Senators from Georgia got together to demand the champs get the respect they deserved, and an invitation was sent and declined.

“Unfortunately, the date suggested is not feasible given the student-athlete calendar and time of year, However, we are appreciative of the invitation and look forward to other opportunities for Georgia teams moving forward.”  That’s the official word from a spokesperson for the team.

Of course, like everything else in this country, even a friendly and wholesome tradition like the White House visit for championship teams has turned political.  Steve Kerr and the Golden State Warriors wanted nothing to do with President Trump and stayed away, and now it seems like an intentional Heisman stiff-arm from Biden to Georgia.
