It appears Spotify has discreetly removed about 70 episodes of the Joe Rogan Experience podcast this week.  This comes after showing support for the world’s No. 1 podcaster after the dustup with Neil Young and other musicians from the 1970s who have pulled their music off the streamer.

These episodes recently yanked apparently were recorded years before the beginning of the pandemic. A website called JREMissing first noticed the missing episodes.  This site uses Spotify’s API to compare available episodes to a database of all his episodes recorded.

Rogan and Spotify have been broiled in a controversy involving accusations of promoting COVID misinformation.

Rogan explained that he is simply having conversations with interesting people, but his critics have tried to plant the seed that his helping to spread dangerous misinformation.

It could be interpreted that Spotify executives may be caving into the outcry from his critics.

Rogan has yet to issue a statement regarding this latest development.  Spotify, based in Stockholm, Sweden, has not commented yet either.
