Call the whole affair scandalous, say it makes President Trump look tawdry. But he’s doing better than ever in the presidential primary polls.

A New Hampshire poll from St. Anselm College has Trump at 42% and Ron DeSantis at 29%. NH Governor Chris Sununu, the governor of the state, pulls a respectable enough 14%. He’s seriously considering jumping into the presidential fray as a moderate, anti-Trump candidate.

Opinion Diagnostics in Massachusetts also released a poll. It provides some crystal balling for the big Super Tuesday day, so it’s a state that doesn’t get a ton of attention, but has a lot of delegates. Trump is even stronger at 45% with DeSantis looking weaker at 21%. Nikki Haley is at 4% while Mike Pence gets 3%. In a head to head matchup with DeSantis, Trump beats him by the same amount. 78% of MA GOP voters said Trump’s indictment isn’t justified. 42% say the indictment makes them more likely to vote for him, while 46% say it makes no difference. Only 10% say the indictment makes their vote of Trump less likely.

Mason-Dixon released a Florida poll and provides some hope for DeSantis, although not much. DeSantis leads with 44%, but 39% are backing Trump. Not great considering it’s DeSantis’s home state.

And nationally, DeSantis has taken the biggest dive of all. Trump is above the magic 50% in a new Fox News poll with 54%. DeSantis polls at 24%. Trump picked up 11% from the last national Fox News poll, while DeSantis dropped four points.

Clearly, Trump’s legal troubles are helping him in the primary
