Sex and the City is getting a reboot,  And Just Like That… (which happens to be the title of the 10-episode series), there is controversy.  Samantha’s character is dead. Not in the sense of no-longer breathing, but in no-longer appearing next to Carrie, Charlotte and Miranda.

Actress, Kim Cattrall will not reprise her role in the 10-episode incarnation that will appear on HBO Max. This comes as no surprise, considering it’s been widely reported that the four fictitious friends were not even close to being besties in real life.

While diehard SATC fans, are ecstatic about the revival, many are wondering how much sex there will actually be in the city if there is no Samantha? Some fans have even suggested the re-boot should introduce a new character, one that could bring some diversity (gasp) to the series.

However, it appears Sarah Jessica Parker (aka Carrie Bradshaw) doesn’t want to make any new friends.

“We’re not looking to create a fourth character,” Parker explained. “We have New York City as a fourth character. There’ll be lots of interesting new characters that we’re excited about.”

As a reminder, Kim Cattrall revealed she was “never” friends with her Sex and the City costars back in 2017.  She even pointed a manicured finger directly at Sarah Jessica Parker saying she “could have been nicer” when Cattrall declined to do a third movie.

The new half-hour series And Just Like That… is scheduled to begin production in New York in late spring.
