Police in San Francisco arrested the person they believe murdered Bob Lee, the founder of Cash App, who was stabbed while walking in the city earlier this month.

The man in custody is 38-year-old tech entrepreneur Nima Momeni – who, if you believe what is on his LinkedIn page, is the owner of Expand IT, Inc. His bio describes him as a “dedicated technology partner with a focus on “supporting a variety of vertical client markets in Healthcare, Finance, High Tech/Startup, Technology, Manufacturing, and Service sectors.

It’s a weird story. Mission Local is the outlet that first reported the arrest, and the paper also said the two men not only knew each other but“were purportedly driving together through downtown San Francisco in a car registered to the suspect” earlier in the day that Lee was killed.

According to the report, the two men were in the vehicle when they began fighting. The two exited the vehicle and continued the confrontation outside the car. Lee was stabbed multiple times, and the murder weapon was found near where he died.

Video footage showed Lee staggering after being stabbed. He tried to flag down cars for help but was ignored by drivers.

San Francisco Board of Supervisors member Matt Dorsey praised SFPD for their “tireless work to bring Bob Lee’s killer to justice and for their arrest of a suspect this morning.”

Lee was also the CTO of Square and helped launch Cash App. He then worked for MobileCoin.

Josh Goldbard, the CEO of MobileCoin, said this about Lee: “Bob was a dynamo, a force of nature. Bob was the genuine article. He was made for the world that is being born right now; he was a child of dreams, and whatever he imagined, no matter how crazy, he made real.”
