The news keeps getting worse for President Joe Biden. He has a 36% approval rating according to an ABC poll, which has him with the lowest approval ratings in the first term of his presidency.

His previous worst was at 38% in the middle of 2022, when the immigration crisis was flaring up.

A total of 58% of Democrats say they would like someone else as the nominee, showing that the path even to the nomination might be a difficult one for the president. This comes after Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has been polling at a robust 19%, with fellow challenger Marianne Williamson also in double digits.

In fact, 26% of voters said that Biden was too old to be president, knocking him out of the running with a solid portion of the electorate. Making matters worse, 63% said he didn’t have the mental sharpness to serve effectively as president.

In addition, ABC did an election poll, which spells good news for Donald Trump. He beats Biden 44% to 38%, while with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, Biden gets 37% to DeSantis’s 42%.

It also dispels DeSantis’ argument that he’d be strongest against Biden. A spat of recent general election polls shows him running the same as Trump when pitted against the president.

Voters also weighed in on the economy, which is a key, bread and butter issue. 54% said Trump handled the economy better, while 36% feel Biden has done better with it.

Biden has a lot to overcome to pull off a victory. Let’s see if he even makes it past the nomination finish line.
