Maybe some will take to the tech revolution.

Now you can replace yourself with a robot, making sure your dog has all that affection owed to it when you’re away. Of course, it means your dog may be developing attachment to an inanimate object, or, because of it’s non human inanimacy, your dog may not be interested in the robot at all.

But the startup Companion is trying. They invented a robot-like- AI powered square that dispenses treats, and even senses odd movements in your dog, ie sadness or sickness.

The new device starts at $49 a month, and it provides all day scheduled activities with your dogs, with games galore. They’ll even behaviorally train your dog, so you don’t have to!

To make matters confusing for your dog, the square device is powered by their owner’s voice. That won’t traumatize the poor pup, I’m sure.

The company notes that it has raised 14 million dollars from investors so far, and has vets and dog behavioral scientists as chief advisors. They say this launch is backed up by over a decade of research that they’ve done.

They say their official mission is to talk to dogs. Bizarre.
