Will Sri Lanka Be the Start of Future Revolutions?…
Is this the beginning of a trend we will be seeing in governments around the world?
At least 55 people were injured in the “protests” (revolution), according to local doctors on Saturday.
Hundreds of thousands, if not millions of people took to the streets and stormed the President’s palace, and lit the prime minister’s home on fire.

Videos shared on social media imply that soldiers shot at protesters outside the President’s residence, but the army denied opening fire.
Looking at Sri Lanka and how the people rose up in the face of hyperinflation because of their default on the debt, is a warning I think. Is this the same dark future for Europe since they destroyed the bond market here? Can you shed any light on our future?
The President and Prime Minister of Sri Lanka will Be Stepping Down
On April 3, the Sri Lankan government’s entire cabinet was dissolved due to mass resignations by top ministers.
An additional 26 cabinet ministers stepped down that weekend, including the central bank governor and President Rajapaksa’s nephew.
What I learned from Tahrir Square in 2011: if the media doesn’t use the word “revolution” during the reporting of a revolution, people will talk relentlessly about “protestors” and “demonstrations” while watching an actual televised revolution.

Most Americans agree the government is ‘corrupt and rigged,’ regardless of political affiliation.
Would you join your fellow Americans in the revolution?
28% of Americans are so upset with the state of the nation that they feel it will be necessary at some point to “take arms” against the government.
The survey of 1,000 registered voters, published by the University of Chicago’s Institute of Politics revealed that most Americans agree the government is “corrupt and rigged against everyday people.”
The extreme polarization in US politics and its impact on Americans’ relationships with each other is strong, according to the data.
The survey indicated Americans’ distrust in government varies depending on their political affiliations.
80% of Democrats voiced that they “generally trust elections to be conducted fairly and counted accurately,” where as only 33% of Republicans believed elections to be legitimate.
As for Independents, 51% voiced their trust in the integrity of American elections.
What Caused the Revolution in Sri Lanka?
The pandemic and global inflation played a role in Sri Lanka’s crisis, but economists have been saying that Sri Lanka has been in financial trouble for a long time now due to its debt crisis and high inflation.
Sounds like a situation many countries are facing right now…
Sri Lanka defaulted on its debts for the first time in May and declared bankruptcy last week.
After the nation declared bankruptcy, tensions between the people and its government worsened.
Hundreds of thousands descended on the capital Colombo, calling for Mr. Rajapaksa to resign after months of protests over economic mismanagement.
Prime Minister of England, Boris Johnson, Recently Resigned
The Prime Minister is facing sexual allegations along with failed administrative policies which have led to his resignation.
“In the past few weeks, I have been trying to convince my colleagues it would be eccentric to change governments when we have achieved so much,” he said in his speech outside No. 10 Downing St. amid loud booing from the crowd nearby. “I regret not to be successful in those arguments and, of course, it’s painful not to be able to see through those projects myself,” said the disgraced Prime Minister.
Johnson promised the United Kingdom that support for Ukraine would continue under his successor….

President Zelensky of Ukraine Recently Fired Multiple Ambassadors
Following the revolt in Sri Lanka, President Zelensky has fired mutiple ambassadors to the Ukraine, including Germany, India, the Czech Republic, Norway and Hungary.
Is this a coincidence?…
“This rotation is a normal part of diplomatic practice,” said the President.
It is not clear if the diplomats will be assigned new positions.
