No matter how many crimes President Donald Trump is charged with, he remains defiant, insisting that regardless of the witch hunt,  he would never drop out of the presidential race in 2024.  One of his former close advisors has a different opinion.

Anthony Scaramucci was one of Trump’s guys during the 2016 campaign and served for 11 days as White House Communications Director.  But things went downhill, and they are no longer close. In fact, Scaramucci is supporting Chris Christie in 2024.

Scaramucci is following Trump’s legal woes and believes that behind the tough exterior Trump shows to the public lurks an understanding of the seriousness of what he’s facing. Here’s what he told Chris Cuomo on NewsNation

“I know President Trump’s personality reasonably well. Remember, it wasn’t just 11 days for me; it was 71 campaign stops and a full year’s worth of work. He does not like this. He is stressed about it.”

The more likely scenario of how this saga plays out, according to Scaramucci, is with Trump on the sidelines instead of on the campaign trail.

“I am going to say something contrarian on your show. I think he ends up eventually dropping out of the race. And I think he ends up coming up with some type of Spiro Agnew-like plea where he’s out, doesn’t go to jail. Something happens to him, but not too significant.”

Trump told Politico as recently as Saturday that he would never drop out. “Look, if I would have left, I would have left prior to the original race in 2016. That was a rough one. In theory, that was not doable.”

Since then, he’s been arraigned in Miami Tuesday and will be spending a great deal of time in the coming months working on his defense.
