This sounds like the plot of a movie, but it happened.

Ryan Coogler is a film director. His most successful credit is Black Panther, which did almost $1.4 billion globally.

Well, he needed to withdraw cash from his Bank of America account and walked up to a teller in an Atlanta bank wearing Sunglasses, a black beanie, and a mask.  You know, because of Covid rules.

He then handed the teller a note, which freaked her out.

“I would like to withdraw $12,000 CASH from my checking account.  Please do the money count somewhere else. I’d like to be discreet.”

Who hasn’t been in that position before, right? Maybe not such a large withdrawal, but it’s always awkward when the teller starts counting C-notes loud enough for the whole bank to hear.

Sensing she was being robbed, the teller alerted the police, who had swarmed the bank within minutes and detained two people waiting in an SUV parked outside who were waiting for Coogler.

According to a TMZ report, the cops then went inside and put the director in cuffs.

He wasn’t happy.  He was in Atlanta shooting the sequel for Black Panther and demanded the badge numbers of the cops that were involved.

BofA apologized, telling the Daily Mail, “We deeply regret that this incident occurred.”

Look for the Black Panther sequel to hit movie screens in November of this year.
