Joe Biden is attending the Association of Southeast Asian Nations summit in Cambodia.  That’s a lot of words for the President to say, let alone memorize, and it proved to be much too challenging of a task for the elderly leader.

Here’s what he said during his opening remarks.

“It was an honor to host at the White House in May, and now that we are back together in Cambodia. I look forward to building even stronger progress than we’ve already made. I want to thank the prime minister for Colombia’s leadership as ASEAN chair.”

Asia.  South America. Columbia. Cambodia. That’s a lot to keep track of for someone who doesn’t have an army of assistants and the responsibility not to make himself and the country he represents look stupid.  Just too much to ask “The Big Guy.”  Somehow, someway it must be a Republican’s fault he’s so bad at geography and memory.

Before he departed the United States, he made the same embarrassing gaffe, saying he was “heading over to Columbia.”

It’s humiliating for Biden, and it would be great if one of his enablers would tell him that.

There are serious issues to address.  When he said the correct words written for him during his speech, he emphasized the U.S. commitment to “free, fair, and ethical trade in the Indo-Pacific.”

Well, we can only hope Biden gets some rest because, on Monday, he goes face-to-face with Chinese leader Xi Jinping.

Let’s hope for the best.
