Steve Ballmer is the former CEO of Microsoft and the current owner of the Los Angeles Clippers. Microsoft is a perennial winner, his Clippers are an all-time loser, and he’s kind of stuck somewhere in the middle. A little rough around the edges. Weird. Very loud and extremely rich.

He’s worth $82.1 billion, and since his team lives in the shadow of the Lakers in Los Angeles and has a small and tortured fan base, he’s rewarding their patience by building a state-of-the-art arena near SoFi Stadium in Inglewood.

Ballmer shouted, err, spoke at the construction site of the new arena Monday, and guess what got him more excited about this new NBA Mecca than anything else?

“1,160 toilets and urinals. Three times the NBA average number of toilets and urinals. We do not want people waiting in line. We want them back to their damn seats at the end of the half, before the game.”

The Clippers will finally have their own arena after sharing Staples Center, which is now crypto.com Arena, with the Lakers since 1999.

Intuit Dome will open for the 2024-25 season.  If a fan decides to try to hold it for the next year and a half, they will have over a thousand options to relieve themself.

Wow. Congrats Steve. That’s three times more toilets in the new Intuit Dome than the NBA league average in other arenas.

Finally, the Clippers will lead the NBA in something.  Meanwhile, Laker fans seem content with their 16 championship banners hanging from the ceiling.
