The Secret Service may need to put Joe Biden in a bubble to keep him safe heading into Inauguration Day. The president-elect reportedly fractured his right foot after slipping while playing with his dog Major.

The injury was revealed in a scan on Sunday and will most likely require the 78-year-old to wear a walking boot for at least the next several weeks, according to his doctor. The injury apparently happened on Saturday. A statement released by Biden’s doctor, Kevin O’Connor, said, “Initial x-rays did not show any obvious fracture,” but the medical staff ordered a more detailed CT scan, which found small fractures of two bones in the middle of his right foot.

Joe Biden will become the oldest U.S. president ever when he is inaugurated in January.

Biden and his wife Jill, adopted Major, a German shepherd, back in 2018 to go along with their other German shepherd, Champ, whom they acquired after the 2008 election. The Bidens also reportedly have added a cat to the family.

Last December, Joe Biden’s doctors released a report saying that he takes statin medication to keep his cholesterol at healthy levels, but he is otherwise “healthy.”

President Trump weighed in on Biden’s injury on social media, retweeting a video of Biden leaving the orthopedic doctor’s office with the caption “Get well soon!”
