Looks like they got away with it, whoever they might be, and if we ever find out who that they is. It’s a Canadian Ocean’s 11.

A fragile container filled with 20 million in Canadian cash and 15 million in gold and other precious items, was taken from a plane at Toronto’s International Airport, and loaded into a secure cargo holding facility, which is protocol. The problem is, it wasn’t so secure.

After that, it completely disappeared. No airport officials knew a thing about its whereabouts.

The Airport Inspector wasn’t much help. He could only confirm that the disappearance of these items was done through illegal means. He could say nothing else on the matter, because it didn’t know anything else.

Oh, and now it’s three days and counting. “We are three days in, so our investigators have their eyes open to all avenues. We are looking at all angles of how this item was stolen.”

The inspector said its possible organized crime was involved. There is a still present but dying mafia out in Toronto, and stronger one in Montreal.

To predict the outcome of this caper, the last time something extremely valuable vanished at the Toronto airport was in 1952. Two and a half million dollars of gold was loaded on a plane from Toronto to Montreal. When it landed, the gold suddenly vanished. The case was never solved.

My guess? The same will happen with these vanishing goods. Some may decry this brazen and grand theft. And some may raise their glass to the crooks’ ingenuity. We’ll leave that for you to decide.
