There are 1,200 McDonald’s stores dotted throughout the United Kingdom, and they will all have one thing in common on Monday; they will be closed.  Here’s the reason why according to a tweet the company posted.

“All of our UK restaurants will be closed on Monday until 5 pm to allow everyone at McDonald’s to pay their respects to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.”

As you can expect, there was a supersized serving of “funny” comments after that tweet that included the words “McMourning.”  And, of course, McSad.”

Hopefully, Prince William doesn’t get a craving for a a 10-pack of McNuggets that day because he won’t be able to find any.

The entire day of September 19 has been declared a public holiday across the UK. Numerous retailers and restaurants are closing their doors to honor the proceedings, just like McDonald’s.

The exact details of the funeral aren’t available, but it will take place in London, with a procession of the coffin going to Westminster Abbey for the morning funeral. The casket will travel to St. George’s Chapel in Windsor for another service.
