The FBI has gotten involved in the deadly shooting that occurred on the set of the movie “Rust” last year, and the news of what they determined is not great for Alec Baldwin.

Baldwin, you may recall, said in an interview with ABC News that the gun that killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins he was holding went off without pulling the trigger.

If that sounded far-fetched and ridiculous to people who don’t have a badge, the FBI wasn’t buying it either after their extensive investigation. The Bureau concluded that the gun could not have been fired without pulling the trigger.

The FBI’s accidental discharge testing showed that the .45 Colt caliber single-action gun could only fire by pulling on the trigger.  According to the report, the weapon could not detonate “without a pull of the trigger when the hammer was struct directly.”

In December, Baldwin granted an interview with George Stephanopoulos and said he did not pull the trigger.

“The trigger wasn’t pulled. I didn’t pull the trigger.”

That’s a lie, fabrication, or something in between, according to the FBI.

What’s next for Baldwin? Well, he’s busy with the six young kids (with another on the way) he and his wife are raising, but there might be something coming his way that is not exactly a bundle of joy.

Santa Fe County Sheriffs are working with the county to get their hands on Baldwin’s phone records. After that, they will send the final Rust shooting case file to the District Attorney to see if any criminal charges will be filed.
