It’s the race to the bottom.

We all know technology has been changing at a breakneck pace. Whether it be automated machines or artificial intelligence, the robots are coming for your jobs. So, what is the first industry to go and fully die?

We’ve finally got your answer. It’s the restaurant server industry.

The US Bureau of Labor Statistics came bearing the news, as ZeroHedge notes.

By 2031, almost 340,000 restaurant jobs will be cut.

2 million Americans work as waiters currently. While it won’t be a complete death knell by new decade’s dawn, the job loss numbers will only plummet further as the 2030’s wares on.

At number two, projected to lose close to 210,000 jobs, are secretaries and administrative assistants.

Interestingly enough, fast food employees were all the down at tenth place for fastest job loss. You think they’d be sitting on the top. That industry will lose about 70,000 jobs.

Proportionally, cashiers win for the quickest drop in jobs, which is not too surprising.

Parking enforcement officers and typists run neck in neck with cashiers for job loss as well.

This may all lead economists to ask, what really is the fix? Andrew Yang, a presidential candidate in 2020, crowed constantly about doling out a universal income to American citizens. He proposed $1000 a month for each American.

Seems stupid on its face, but it might just save us all.
