Oran Alexander Routh, son of suspected would-be Trump assassin Ryan Wesley Routh, was arrested on Tuesday morning after police reportedly found him in possession of hundreds of images of child sexual abuse material. Routh, 36, was taken into police custody at his home in Greensboro, North Carolina four days after police conducted a search of the residence “in connection with an investigation unrelated to child exploitation,” likely in connection with his father’s attempt on former President Donald Trump’s life in Florida earlier this month.
According to court documents filed after the arrest, Routh has been charged with both receipt and possession of child pornography, which included “videos from a known child pornography series created outside the state of North Carolina.” During their search, investigators discovered multiple devices containing images and videos of adult males performing sex acts on minor females as young as six, as well as messaging apps frequently used for distributing such materials.
Weeks prior to his arrest, Routh spoke with the Daily Mail about his father’s plan to assassinate Donald Trump at a golf course in West Palm Beach, Florida. While speaking to the outlet, Routh indicated that his father hated the former president “as every reasonable person does,” adding that “I don’t like Trump either.”
“He’s not a violent person,” he said of his father, who is now facing charges related to the assassination attempt. “He’s a hard worker and a great dad. He’s a great dude, a nice guy and has worked his whole f*cking life.”

He continued:
I hate this game every four years, and think that we all do, and if my father wants to be a martyr to how broken and disassociated the process has become from the real problems and practical solutions, then that’s his choice.
I’m not saying that’s what he’s done or what he’s about, that’s just my own rant being fed up with it all for my entire adult life.

As Valuetainment previously reported, Ryan Routh remains in custody on two federal gun charges for possessing an AK-47 with an obliterated serial number while being a convicted felon. Additional charges for his alleged plans to kill former President Trump are expected in the coming weeks.
In a letter allegedly penned by the would-be assassin and released by the Department of Justice, Ryan Routh expressed frustration with Trump’s views on the Russia-Ukraine conflict. He also offered a $150,000 bounty on the former president in the event that his assassination plan was unsuccessful.

Both Rouths have faced criminal charges in the past, Oran for driving while impaired, assault on a female, and interfering with an emergency communication, Ryan for more than 100 criminal counts including possessing a machine gun.
