The big prisoner swap of last week had the two participants staying on brand as soon as they tasted freedom.

Brittney Griner reportedly dunked a basketball Sunday in her first hoops workout in almost ten months.

Meanwhile, the “Merchant of Death,” Viktor Bout, said he would like to get involved in the war with Ukraine if he could and get on the front lines and, one would assume, live up to his nickname however he could.

The man, referred to as one of the most dangerous people on Earth, did a video interview with the Russian TV network RT, which the Kremlin controls.  In the interview, he denied being connected to the Taliban and said he had nothing to do with supplying arms to Afghanistan.

The interview was not what you would call “hard-hitting.” The interviewer lobbed a softball at him by asking if it was true that he had a picture of Vladimir Putin in his prison cell.

“Yes, always. Why not? I’m proud that I’m Russian and that our president is Putin.”

It’s well known that Griner was arrested and convicted of carrying a vape pen in her luggage. She landed in San Antonio on Friday and has been undergoing physical and mental heatth evaluations at a medical center on the Fort Sam Houston military base. She’s not planning on leaving any time soon.

Meanwhile, the Merchant of Death was serving 25 years for conspiring to kill Americans, acquire and export anti-aircraft missiles, and provide material support to a terrorist organization. He’s been treated like a hero in Russia since his return.
