The headquarters of the Republican National Committee (RNC) was put under lockdown on Wednesday morning after “vials of blood” were uncovered in the mail.
“It sounds like vials of blood were sent in a package and something broke open,” a source told the New York Post. The Post added the full details of the situation are still unclear.

No injuries were reported as of 10:20 a.m., but a hazmat unit had been dispatched to the building which is located in the Capitol Hill neighborhood.
The Post was told by multiple sources that the building had received an “all clear” signal around 9:40 a.m., and employees were permitted to return to the premises.
