For a good part of the past two years, Anthony Fauci has logged literally hundreds of hours in front of television cameras talking about COVID 19. Now he has a different perspective of it, as he tested positive on Wednesday.

The director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases got a positive result from a rapid antigen test.  According to his staff, he is “currently experiencing mild symptoms.”

A statement from the National Institutes of Health was quick to point out that Fauci has not been in close contact with Joe Biden, who, according to the report, is fully vaccinated and has had two booster shots.

Here’s more from the statement.

“Dr. Fauci will isolate and continue to work from his home. He has not recently been in close contact with President Biden or other senior government officials. Dr. Fauci will follow the COVID-19 guidelines of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and medical advice from his physician and return to the NIH when he tests negative.”
