On Saturday, hours after making his first public appearance in more than a week, President Donald Trump, White House physician Sean Conley has stated that he “no longer poses an infection risk” to others.

In a memo released Saturday, Trump’s doctor said, “by currently recognized standards, he is no longer considered a transmission risk.” The Centers for Disease Control says that patients should isolate for at least 10 days after the start of symptoms, and 20 days or more in more severe cases.  Patients may end isolation once symptoms are no longer present and they have been fever-free for 24 hours.

Dr. Conley also pointed out that the President’s medical team has seen the amount of virus present in his body decrease over time and that there is no evidence of the virus replicating. “Now at day 10 from symptom onset, fever-free for well over 24 hours and all symptoms improved, the assortment of advanced diagnostic tests obtained reveal there is no longer evidence of actively replicating virus,” stated Conley.

With three weeks to go until election day, President Trump addressed supporters from a White House balcony on Saturday afternoon. As he emerged, Trump removed his mask and talked briefly about his experience with the virus, acknowledging he was on the brink of “bad things,” but that he now has a better understanding of COVID-19.

Trump went on to say, “I’m feeling great,” while also declaring that the pandemic was “disappearing.”

Meanwhile, former VP and current presidential candidate Joe Biden reported that he once again tested negative for Covid-19 on Saturday. The Democratic nominee has continued to travel for campaign appearances this past week. At a stop in his home state of Pennsylvania Saturday, Biden said the only way he could lose the election was through “chicanery,” but later added he would accept the results of the election either way.
