President of El Salvador Nayib Bukele gathered all the members of the government’s executive branch on Friday to tell them he would be investigating them for corruption and bribery.

In official footage posted to Bukele’s X account, the young president is seen requesting the Attorney General, who is not on the executive branch, to begin investigating all those present for bribery. The officials were visibly surprised.

“Based,” Elon Musk replied. “This is how you lead. Whether it is well executed or not, we shall see. But this is how you lead,” said former CIA Ops Officer Bryan Dean Wright.

On Monday, the Salvadoran Congress—which is under the control of Bukele’s New Ideas party—approved a change to a Constitutional article that will permit greater constitutional reforms without waiting for the congressional elections.

“This is a shot to the democracy of our country. The only thing they are demonstrating is the petty interests and ambition to maintain and not let go of power,” said critic of Bukele Rosa Romero, a member of the nominally right-wing Nationalist Republican Alliance (ARENA).
