Joe Exotic, the man credited with keeping millions occupied during the early days of quarantine, is now feeling the heartache from the coronavirus firsthand. His dad just died from COVID-19.

That’s why the Tiger King and his legal team are pleading for an immediate presidential pardon so Joe can attend his father’s funeral. The services are set for Saturday in Oklahoma, and Joe desperately wants to go.

Since the clock is ticking, Joe’s lawyers have hitched a free ride on a friend’s jet for a quick trip to D.C, (and it must be a pretty good friend, considering the plane now has a custom wrap with Joe’s face and the word ‘Exotic’ splashed all over it).

Joe’s legal team, headed up by Eric Love, told TMZ he has a big meeting with someone White House/pardon-related, but he’s not saying who.

This isn’t the first time lawyers for the Tiger King have gone to Washington. They showed up in D.C. back in May with a bus wrapped in a plea to get Joe sprung from prison. They also racked up a $10,000 bill at Trump’s Washington DC hotel, in an attempt to gain favor.

They believe the pardon is in play, especially since Donald Trump Jr. is a fan, and personally presented the pardon request to his dad.

If Trump doesn’t grant the pardon, they have a plan B: going to a judge and asking for a day pass. That would grant Joe—real name Joseph Maldonado-Passage—temporary release so he could attend his father’s funeral.

Maldonado-Passage is currently serving a 22-year sentence for plotting to kill big-cat rights activist Carole Baskin.
