Everyone said it wouldn’t last, and apparently, everyone was right.
Kim Kardashian and Kanye West appear to be calling it quits. Although no divorce papers have been formally filed, sources close to the reality star say she’s officially done.
The same source says the couple had a very rough 2020. First, they had to quarantine in their 16,000-square-foot, $60-million mansion in Calabasas, Calif. Then, Kanye launched a bizarre run for President of the United States during what was diagnosed as another bi-polar episode for him.
Meanwhile, the Kardashian’s canceled their own reality show and Kim was forced to promote her multi-million-dollar brand and raise her four kids in-between shuttling to exotic vacation spots around the world.
According to TMZ, Kim and Kanye have been in and out of marriage counseling for a while. Their sources say Kim wanted to file for divorce last year but thought it was “not a good look” to file for divorce while her husband was having a very public bipolar episode.
Kardashian watchers with keen eyes have also seen clues that the marriage was about to collapse. Kardashian Christmas photos show Kim and the kids with no Kanye in sight. Also absent is Kim’s wedding ring in recent pictures from a New Year’s trip to Lake Tahoe.
The couple has reportedly been living separately for months, with Kanye spending most of his time in Wyoming while Kim has been in Calabasas with the kids. It appears talk of divorce was put on hold during the holidays, but the New Year has put ending the marriage front and center.
Kim has also had high-powered divorce queen, Laura Wasser, on retainer for years, but Kim has never given her the green light to file.
