I’m not saying the disgraced former CEO of FTX is a bona fide idiot,,, wait, he has to be. There is no other explanation, and he wants to ensure we all know it every time we turn on a network or cable news program.
This has nothing to do with running the company into the ground, losing billions of other people’s money, or the disgusting arrogance he continues to show. It has everything to do with the media tour he seems to be enjoying from a generic-looking kitchen in some condo in the Bahamas.
He was on Good Morning America on Thursday. Which was a scandal inside a scandal considering what’s going on with anchors Amy Robach and TJ Holmes and their secret affair. Last time I checked, an affair isn’t illegal. What Sam Bankman-Fried may have done is.
George Stephanopoulos asked him if he was worried about going to prison.
Prison, that’s for people who aren’t fake billionaires at one point in their life, he had to be thinking. Here’s what he actually said.
“There are lot of things that are worrying me right now and you know as best as possible, I’m trying to focus on what I can do going forward to be helpful and, you know, let whatever, you know, regulatory and legal processes are happening play out as they will.”
Wow. Hard to see how things could have gone south at FTX with this goof at the steering wheel.
The GMA anchor followed that question by telling SBF that many people consider him a Bernie Madoff. In other words, a felonious monster consumed with selfish greed.
“Yeah, I mean, I don’t think that’s who I am at all, but I understand why they’re saying that. People lost money. And people lost a lot of money and I mean at the end of the day, look, there’s a question of what happened and why and who did what. What caused the meltdown and I think that is – reads very differently. When you look at the classic Bernie Madoff story, there was no real business there. The whole thing, as I understand it, I think, was just one big Ponzi scheme, right? FTX, that was a real business.”
I can’t wait for the Today Show on Friday! Surely they must have him booked already.
