Getting Elon Musk back to his office at Tesla, SpaceX, or The Boring Company might be difficult because each day at Twitter, he seems to discover a new level of corruption, coercion, suppression of information and free speech, or woke-themed merchandise in the company store.

His latest findings were a doozy; Twitter’s former Deputy Counsel, in other words, the top lawyer at the company, was involved in Twitter’s handling of the Hunter Biden laptop story right before the 2020 election.

James Baker is the name of the attorney who was “exited” from Twitter headquarters.  Musk fired him when he learned what he did and his background. Baker worked as general counsel at the FBI before he came to Twitter, and one of his lasting legacies at the Bureau was the work he did investigating Russia’s interference in the 2016 presidential election.

Baker was presented data, files, and “white papers” from a lawyer named Michael Susan, who allegedly showed that there were covert communications between the Trump Organization and Alfa Bank, based in Russia.

Sussman had reportedly told Baker that he was a concerned citizen and not doing work for any specific client, but the bill he sent to get paid was delivered to the Hillary Clinton campaign.  Sussman was charged with making a false statement to the FBI but acquitted in 2022.

As for the Hunter Biden laptop story, which the New York Post broke in 2020 and was censored by Twitter’s former management, Baker was in the middle of all of it.

And to make matters worse, Baker had also been in the middle of the first batch of the Twitter files that Musk turned over to journalist Matt Taibbi, which was all about the Biden laptop story with the New York Post. Taibbi had said there were “obstacles to new searches” as he went through the files.

In other words, Baker was involved in releasing files and information regarding a scandal with which he was directly involved.  When Musk discovered that, Baker was canned.

That leads to the obvious question: was Baker able to destroy or hide evidence, files, or information in the weeks he was at Twitter before he was discovered and “exited.”
