The happiest place on Earth? Not really.  A group of employees at The Walt Disney Company who do not share the extreme far left and progressive political values of some outspoken employees sent an open letter to the company.  In that letter, the employees asked that leadership not take political stances on issues that alienate a large percentage of workers and Disney’s audience.

According to Fox Business, a direct line from the letter describes the Disney work environment as “an increasingly uncomfortable place to work” for employees not in line with the progressives.

“The Walt Disney Company has come to be an increasingly uncomfortable place to work for those of us whose political and religious views are not explicitly progressive. We watch quietly as our beliefs come under attack from our own employer, and we frequently see those who share our opinions condemned as villains by our own leadership.”

It’s an incredibly sticky situation for Bob Chapek, the executive who replaced legend Bob Iger as CEO, who probably lost a little sleep Thursday night as he re-read the letter in his head a few times.

The “Reimagine Tomorrow” campaign at Disney is something to keep a close eye on because it has the potential to cause a civil war at their corporate office if you believe the sentiments expressed in the open letter, which said in part,  “the tomorrow being reimagined doesn’t seem to have much room for religious or political conservatives within the company. Left-leaning cast members are free to promote their agenda and organize on company time using company resources. They call their fellow employees ‘bigots’ and pressure TWDC to use corporate influence to further their left-wing legislative goals.”

Here’s one more excerpt from the letter.

“Disney is far more important and impactful to the world by avoiding politics than it will ever be by embracing a political agenda. Disney shouldn’t be a vehicle for one demographic’s political activism.”

Good luck, Mickey.  You’re going to need it.
