Three Consumer Alerts to Know

First, be aware if you’re shopping for children this holiday season. A recent consumer report by the U.S. Public Interest Research Group shows recalled, and counterfeit toys are being sold online. The group says it was able to buy more than 30 recalled toys from U.S.-based online sellers. Toys on the list were recalled for multiple reasons, including choking hazards, laceration risk, and potential poisoning.

Here’s a list of some of the recalled or counterfeit toys found online

  • DigitDots 3mm and 5mm Magnetic Balls from H.D. Premier:
  •  Kidoozie Play Tents and Playhouses by Epoch Everlasting Play:
  • Forky 11″ Plush Toys from Pixar’s Toy Story:
  • Early Learning Centre Little Senses Lights & Sounds Shape Sorter Toys from Addo Play:
  • 6-inch Aflac plush promotional ducks from Communicorp:
  • Blue’s Clues Foot-to-Floor Ride-on Toys from Huffy Corp:

Another recall is in your freezer. Tyson Foods recalls an estimated 94,000 pounds of ground beef. The recall was sparked after consumers reported finding “mirror-like” material in beef. Tyson Foods has not explained what this material could be. You have likely purchased the beef if you live in Texas. The recalled meat was sold at H-E-B, Joe V’s, Mi Tienda, and central market grocery stores in Texas under “Hill Country Fare.”

Last, bad news for anyone expecting to gift an iPhone 14 Pro or Pro Max, you won’t be able to. According to Apple, the estimated delivery time for most phones is December 28th. The longer wait times are due to supply chain woes and the increased Covid restrictions at Apple’s main facility in China.
