The Las Vegas economy is going to see a major spike in the sale of Guinness Beer during the weekend of July 10.
Tourism dollars from Ireland will be flowing in, and the city will feel a charge unlike anything since pre-pandemic, as the UFC announced Wednesday that Conor McGregor will fight Dustin Poirier on July 10, in front of a full-house at T-Mobile Arena.
McGregor confirmed it to ESPN. ”I signed bout agreement this morning. I’m going to rip this game a new a–hole July 10th. The Mac is back in Sin City! Full house!”
McGregor is more excited now than he was in January, when Poirier destroyed him in a second round TKO. This will be the third match between the fighters, with McGregor winning the first one back in 2014.
Dana White, the President of UFC is excited that he won’t have to travel half-way around the world for a fight this summer. ”I’m so happy to finally be able to say Vegas is back. This summer Las Vegas is back open for business and on July 10, UFC 264 will be at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas at 100% capacity. Ladies and gentlemen, that’s 20,000 fans.”
The Governor of Nevada, Steve Sisolak announced Tuesday he hopes to remove social distancing by May 1, and his goal is to have all venues across the state at 100% capacity by June 1.
