Did you ever think we’d live in a society where rampant crime is not discouraged? Most sane, rational Americans with common sense are outraged at what is happening in big cities like New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Chicago.

You’d almost have to live there to understand how bad the crime problem is. But for those that love random violence, theft, and all that comes with it, there is a new wave of mayors that speak your language.

Chicagoans were dancing in the street a few weeks ago when the former disaster of a mayor was not re-elected, but somehow it appears the city found an equally progressive, woke, soft-on-crime man to take Lori Lightfoot’s place.

His name is Brandon Johnson, the mayor-elect making headlines for his comments after a couple of nights of chaos in the city caused by large groups of out-of-control teenagers involved in “Teen Takeover.”

Hundreds of lawless teens descended on downtown to vandalize cars and assault tourists out for a stroll in one of the most beautiful cities in America. Cops made 15 arrests during the chaos — most for reckless conduct, and a 16-year-old was charged with unlawful use of a weapon.

Johnson cautioned people not to judge the rogue teens too harshly.  The progressive is very concerned about lawbreakers being “demonized” unjustly.

“In no way do I condone the destructive activity we saw in the Loop and lakefront this weekend. It is unacceptable and has no place in our city. However, it is not constructive to demonize youth who have otherwise been starved of opportunities in their own communities.”

Store owners in Chicago who saw rampant vandalism and theft during the riots of 2020 and scores of tourists who were accosted by the teens over the weekend might say something like, “Um, do our feelings count?”
