I guess this kind of changes things for the Tampa Bay Bucs’ prospects next season.  Tom Brady on Sunday decided to retire from being retired, and after six weeks of being a former NFL star, he became a current one again.

Brady announced on Twitter that he was coming back for his 23rd season in the league, and to the surprise of some, he is returning to Tampa Bay to give it another try with the Bucs.

With Brady kind of out of the picture the past month, Vegas casinos were posting odds of 50-1 that the Bucs would win the Super Bowl next year.  Actually, those odds would be a little optimistic considering Brady wouldn’t be lining up under center, and some savvy bettors got in on the action in the nick of time, hoping to cash in if Brady works his magic again.

ESPN reported that at 7:13 p.m. ET, Sunday, Brady announced he was returning to play.  That is important because the NCAA tournament brackets were set to be released at almost exactly the same time. This is one of the busiest times of the year for oddsmakers.

On Thursday, a customer of SuperBook tried to make a pair of $10,000 bets on the Bucs to win the Super Bowl at 60-1 and win the NFC championship at 30-1. The book allows him to be $1,000, but it got their attention thinking someone had some info.  A couple of bettors were quick enough to get bets on Brady’s MVP odds for next season, grabbing them at 45-1 before they quickly fell to 9-1.
