If you’ve been keeping up with Kim Kardashian at all, you most likely know that she has worked with Donald Trump on a couple of occasions. If you thought the move to work with Trump was controversial, you are absolutely correct. According to Kardashian, “Trust me, everyone called me and said, ‘Don’t you dare step foot in that White House or your reputation is done,’ and I said, ‘I have to step foot in there or these people’s lives don’t have a chance.’”

The confession from the reality TV star came in an interview with David Letterman for his Netflix series “My Next Guest Needs No Introduction.” Kardashian was explaining her passion for criminal justice reform when Letterman started pressing for information on her 2018 White House visit.

Kardashian’s 2018 White House trip was used to convince President Trump to commute the sentence of Alice Johnson, a great-grandmother who was serving a life sentence for a nonviolent drug conviction. Letterman offered words of encouragement but also was clear on his stance toward Trump: “I’m grateful for what you’re doing, but it doesn’t make me feel any better about the current administration,” Letterman said, to which Kardashian reportedly replied, “I understand that.”

Unlike most of Tinseltown, Kardashian has never said a bad word about Trump throughout his

time in office, and she continued to avoid going negative once again. Kardashian simply said she was “extremely grateful” for the administration’s decision to work with her on an issue that she is so passionate about as she continues to study law and advocate for reform.

Letterman also asked Kardashian to talk about her voting plans for the upcoming election, and she responded by saying, “I know who I’m voting for.”
