Wuhan Institute of Virology is about to go from making studies to being studied now that a U.S. senior government official increased COVID-19 finger-pointing to its Chinese government-run laboratory.

Talking on a Zoom call to British parliament members last week, U.S. Deputy National Security Advisor Matthew Pottinger said, “There is a growing body of evidence that the lab is likely the most credible source of the virus.”

Pottinger attributed the coronavirus origin to a “leak or accident” and said, “Even establishment figures in Beijing have openly dismissed the wet market story,” the Daily Mail first reported.

A senior U.S. administration official told Fox News that identifying the origins of the virus is key to preventing future pandemics. To date, no evidence has emerged to support the claims on the Wuhan lab.

“I was told the U.S. have an ex-scientist from the laboratory in America at the moment,” former Tory Party leader Iain Duncan Smith told the Daily Mail after listening to Pottinger’s meeting. “That was what I heard a few weeks ago. “I was led to believe this is how they have been able to stiffen up their position on how this outbreak originated.”

The World Health Organization (WHO) representatives will soon travel to China to investigate the COVID origins that the source said China tried to dispel with an “extensive disinformation campaign.” An Associated Press investigation also found that China officials were “strictly controlling” research into the origin.

Wuhan was the site of the first reported cases of COVID and will be where the WHO investigators will begin, according to Reuters. President Donald Trump withdrew support from WHO, citing China’s influence, and Pottinger commented that its investigation has been run under pretenses. But President-elect Joe Biden has suggested that the U.S. will rejoin WHO.

Either way, the more important WHO, is who is responsible?
