No, it’s not 1945 but that doesn’t mean all women shouldn’t master this basic skill.

Don’t get offended. I’m not telling women to “get back in the kitchen.”

I knew we had a problem in society when this girl I met in college told me she didn’t know how to cook a chicken breast.

Since when did it become “out of style” to cook a basic meal?!

I’m sure the “feminist” movement had something to do with it… 😉

I get it. Women work and are “too tired” to cook when they get home, but that doesn’t mean they can’t learn how to cook a basic few meals…

There are so many benefits to mastering this fun (and yummy!) skill.

Here are 6 Reasons ALL Women Should Learn How to Cook:

1. You Will Save Money

People don’t cook anymore, which means they are now spending more money on ready-made meals. If you learn how to cook, not only will you save money, but you will also have more food for your buck!

2. You Will Lose Weight

Ready-made meals have tons of sodium, harmful (and addictive) additives, and loads of calories due to added sugars and “bad” fats. If you start cooking for yourself, you will have full control over the ingredients in your food and can eliminate excess calories.

Ever get a salad that’s like 700 calories?? That’s the biggest scam. A seemingly “healthy” meal is now one of the worst things you could consume.

3. You Will be Healthier

When you cook for yourself, you can control everything that goes into your food. As a result, you will be healthier because foods that are “seemingly healthy” at supermarkets are quite the opposite when you actually read the nutrition labels.

By 2030, 60% of America will be obese because the majority of Americans’ diets consist of ultra-processed foods. Processed foods contain harmful additives, and thanks to the FDA’s approval, the majority of Americans are now suffering from loads of mental and physical health problems as a result.

Ditch the processed foods and start cooking your own meals!

4. Your Mental Health will Improve

There is a direct link between anxiety + depression and the consumption of processed foods which include vegetable oils (like canola oil).

When you buy take-out, there is a 99% chance they are cooking with vegetable oils and not the healthy ones like olive, avocado, or coconut oil. Processed foods are no better. Processed foods contain loads of harmful additives that cause depression and anxiety. By eliminating processed foods and hydrogenated vegetable oils, your mental health will surely improve.

Pastries, fast food, sodas, and snacks tend to be the culprits for most Americans.

Cooking in itself is a fun and relaxing activity, so there’s also that as an added benefit!

5. You will Impress your Friends & Family

When you master a skill like cooking, not only are your pockets happy, but you now have a new and unique way to impress your friends, family, and significant other!

Since most people cannot cook, you will be deemed “exotic” or “rare.” It’s kinda funny, but true!

Now, whenever you have dinner parties or host events, you can impress your guests with an amazing home-cooked meal.

6. Someone’s Gotta Do It!

Some men like to cook, and that’s fantastic, but what’s going to happen when you want to have kids one day and can’t even make a basic meal? Do you expect your husband to come home and cook for the family after a long day at work?

Cooking is a very useful skill to master and beneficial for so many reasons!

Women are typically known as the”caretakers” or “nurturers,” and this is something all women (and men) should embrace. It’s okay for women to do “feminine” activities.

Unfortunately, today’s society and the notorious “feminist” movement have convinced millions of women that they need to be more “masculine” in order to be a “girl boss.”

As a woman, I profoundly disagree and think this is the complete opposite of what it means to be a woman… but that’s another story for another time 😉
