When it comes to Will Smith, it’s been a very long time since he was the likable “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.”  He’s morphed into a middle-aged “Oddball Actor of Calabasas,” who has very little of his life that is unscripted or unrehearsed. As far as being unhinged, well, that’s another story.

This past weekend was the magical time Will’s team of handlers felt it was time for Smith to get back on social media with some cringy, scripted, “spontaneous” comments about spiders. And a meme starring a couple of gorillas.

Smith posted a video where he and his oldest son Trey captured a huge spider in their house, and Smith uttered this.

“What the whole hell? That is a big-a** spider!”

Earlier, in his first weekend post, Smith chose a popular meme that showed a baby gorilla annoying a bigger gorilla by touching it on the back. Smith posted a caption saying, “Me trying to get back on social.” That one got north of a million likes.

The bigger story is that Smith is shedding followers on his social media accounts at a pretty fast clip. On Saturday and Sunday, just under 20,000 fell off.  Monday, over 27,000 unfollowed him, five months after he slapped Chris Rock in an unprovoked attack at the Oscars.

His previous stab at rehabbing his image via Instagram was on July 29, when he posted a strange video where he answered questions in an awkward attempt at addressing his assault on Rock.
