For months, Republicans have been saying that presidential candidate Joe Biden is essentially a “Trojan horse” for the progressive side of the Democratic Party as it looks to eventually transition to a Kamala Harris presidency once Biden is elected. In a speech today in Georgia, it sounds like Joe might be starting to believe that as well.

“Folks, my name is Joe Biden, and I’m Jill Biden’s husband and I’m Kamala’s running mate,” Bidden quipped. “Y’all think I’m kidding, don’t you?”

Harris has also referenced a “Harris administration,” last month saying, “A Harris administration, together with Joe Biden as the president of the United States,” before quickly adding: “The Biden-Harris administration will provide access to $100 billion in low-interest loans and investments from minority business owners.”

One interpretation of Biden’s comments is that they could very well have been made in jest to Republican claims of him being a pawn to the progressives.

White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany jumped on the Biden comment, tweeting, “Joe Biden confirms what we all knew: “I am Kamala’s running mate. Y’all think I’m kidding, don’t you!?” along with a clip of video with Joe making the statement.

The Biden campaign event in Georgia was reportedly one of the largest attended for the Democratic nominee in the lead-up to the general election, with 771 people in attendance. In comparison, President Trump’s rally in Nebraska on Tuesday night had more than 25,000 in attendance, with temperatures hovering in the low to mid-30s for the outdoor event at an airfield in Omaha.
