It seems never to end. Twitter has remained under a microscope since Elon Musk bought the social media company. Musk is getting heat this time for his decision to kick off several high-profile journalists.
Thursday night, Musk banned several journalists from top news outlets, including CNN’s Donnie O’Sullivan, The New York Times’ Ryan Mac, and any other journalist who has been laser-focused on everything Musk has been doing in the past couple of months.

Musk states that journalists were banned for violating his new “doxxing” policy. Why is this serious? Musk accuses these journalists of sharing his location in real-time with likely malicious intent. There have been recent concerning reports of Musk claiming a crazy stalker attacked his car while his son was inside. It is safe to assume this has caused the serial entrepreneur to crack down on people knowing his location. However, there is no apparent evidence that top profile journalists have shared Musk or his family’s real-time location.

Many people, especially journalists, question the ban because Musk has often and publicly criticized people being banned or shut out from platforms. In the past, he has tweeted even his worst critics deserve to remain on Twitter because that is the definition of free speech.

Journalists are not the only people dealing with a suspended Twitter account. Musk also suspended the infamous account of a Florida college student who tracked Musk’s private jet sharing the real-time location on the Twitter page @ElonJet. Musk says he banned the Twitter user for doxxing as well. However, he did try several times to ask the college student to stop tracking his jet. He even offered to pay him to take the page down
