Hot off the heels of a shooting of an American tourist in Puerto Morelos, four are dead after a shooting at a Cancun resort.
Originally authorities found three dead bodies, a few hours later, a fourth one turned up, found hidden in the shrubbery at a parking lot.
Police, as well as the National Guard, descended on the Fiesta Americana hotel, a resort sitting on the beach geared towards American tourists.
Authorities confirm, at least, that two suspects have been arrested and are in federal custody.
The situation has gotten so bad, the US State Department issued a warning for tourists “exercise extreme caution”.
Authorities are investigating further details but are notoriously slow. Expect it to be mired in corruption as well.
