On Thursday’s episode of the PBD Podcast, Patrick Bet-David sat down with conservative pundit and author Ann Coulter for an engaging discussion about the political legacy of former President Donald Trump.

Once a prominent supporter of the former president, Coulter has become one of his biggest critics in the years since the 2016 election, accusing Trump of failing to live up to his campaign promises. Alongside the rest of the Home Team, Coulter and PBD discussed border security, the 2024 race, and the ousting of House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, as well as Coulter’s public social media battles with Trump.

Here are some of the main takeaways from the latest episode:

1. “If Trump Had Had a Heart Attack…” – Donald Trump’s Broken Campaign Promises

Despite being one of the first people to predict Donald Trump’s 2016 victory, Coulter quickly became disenchanted with him once he took office. From his failure to “build the wall” to his many ill-advised cabinet appointments, Coulter argued that Trump did not live up to the image he projected while on the campaign trial.

“If he’d come out at 2 a.m. on the night he won, said ‘we won,’ and then had a heart attack and died, that would have been the best thing that could have happened for this country,” she insisted. “He did everything good that he was ever going to do with that campaign.”

Once Trump was inaugurated, Coulter’s relationship with the former president deteriorated into shouting matches and conflicting ideas, leading to her becoming one of his biggest right-wing critics.

2. “Bitter Women and Battered Wives” – Ann Coulter vs. PBD on Trump’s Reelection Chances

As the relationship between Trump and Coulter worsened over the years, their online clashes became increasingly personal. During the most recent exchange, Trump called Coulter a “washed-up” pundit who became “unbearably crazy.”

In response, Coulter accused the former president of dodging a video interview, calling him a “GIGANTIC P***Y.”

But focusing on Coulter’s prediction that Trump cannot possibly become the 2024 Republican nominee, PBD pushed back: “The numbers don’t support what you’re saying. It makes you look bitter, it makes you look angry, and it makes it look like no one can please you.”

Later, Coulter went on to describe die-hard Trump supporters as “battered wives” thinking their abusive husbands will stop hurting them if they get just one more chance. “He had four years, two with a Republican Congress,” Coulter said. “I don’t know what other proof you could possibly want.”

3. “The Republican Brand is Sanity” – The Ousting of Kevin McCarthy

Even as a fan of Rep. Matt Gaetz, Coulter admitted that she was angry about his decision to oust Kevin McCarthy as Speaker of the House. With the Republicans only holding a narrow majority in the House of Representatives, she argued that the party should be focused on winning elections to gain control of the Senate and the Executive Branch.

“The biggest advantage for Republicans is that we’re not insane,” Coulter said. “We have Democrats pushing transgenderism, poisoning and mutilating little children, they are aggressively discriminating against White Americans, and they have opened up the border like we’ve never seen before.”

With other pundits encouraging Republicans to burn the whole system down, Coulter encouraged them to focus on the top issues to win more government seats.
