The whole world will be watching Joe Biden during his State of the Union speech on Tuesday night, and one person wants him to seize the moment and do something useful.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has been wowing people worldwide since Russia has invaded his country, and while he’s in a bunker, fighting to stay alive, he told CNN and Reuters in an interview what he is hoping Biden does.

“You have to speak first of all. Everybody has to stop fighting and to go [back] to that point from where it began five, six days ago. I think there are principal things you can do … If you do this, and that side does this, it means they are ready for peace. If they (are not) ready, it means you’re just wasting time.”

Zelensky received a standing ovation when he addressed the European Parliament through a video link. In an emotional speech, he told delegates, “We are fighting for our life.”

When pushed by reporters to talk about how he has gone from a famous actor in Ukraine to being a strong leader during a war, he told them, “It’s very serious, it’s not a movie … I’m not iconic, I think Ukraine is iconic.”

Biden has his work cut out for him during the speech. His approval ratings are disastrous in the U.S., and the entire world will be curious to see what kind of tone and tenor he takes as he addresses a very serious time in the nation’s history that includes high inflation, the never-ending COVID pandemic, gas prices through the roof and now nuclear threats from Russia.
