At a private donor dinner in Florida this weekend, presidential candidate Donald Trump told attendees that he does not get stressed over his legal battles: “If you care too much, you tend to choke. And in a way, I don’t care. It’s just, you know, life is life.” This is according to NBC News, which claims to have received an audio recording.

This comes alongside Trump’s statement to the press after his day in court yesterday in which he said he would willingly go to jail for the cause of defending “the Constitution.”

“I have to watch every word I tell you people… because this judge has given me a gag order and said you’ll go to jail if you violate it,” he said, referring to Justice Juan Merchan ruling he had committed a tenth gag order violation that day. “And frankly, you know what? Our Constitution is much more important than jail. It’s not even close. I’ll do that sacrifice any day.”

NBC also claims Trump compared the Biden administration to the Gestapo, the secret police of the Nazis: “These people are running a Gestapo administration. … “And it’s the only thing they have. And it’s the only way they’re going to win in their opinion.”

“Once I got indicted, I said, Holy shit. I just got indicted. Me. I got indicted,” he reportedly said. “Once I got indicted, I said, well, now the gloves have to come off.”

He said Biden is “the worst president in the history of our country. He’s grossly incompetent. He’s crooked as hell. He’s the Manchurian candidate.” He also called special counsel Jack Smith, who is prosecuting two of the cases against Trump, a “deranged” “evil thug.”
