Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is doing his best to rewrite history. He said he incentivized Canadians to get the Covid vaccine, but didn’t force them to do so.
However, all federal Canadian workers were mandated to get a vaccine or else they’d lose their job. Same with any employee working for public transportation anywhere in Canada. Choosing between a vaccine or your livelihood seems pretty forcible to me.
And we all remember the “Freedom Convoy”. Trudeau was deeply opposed to the handful of Canadian truckers who protested over the vaccine requirement. And when he found supporters of them, he gauged their bank accounts. He also revoked the GoFundMe cash raised in support of the patriotic truckers.
This was all said during a talk Trudeau was having with the new German president during his visit to the University of Ottawa. The president seemed to buy everything that he was selling, even though the guy is known to lean more to the right.
Trudeau was also quick to brush off the vaccine side effects. He said they were minor and that the harm people suffered from not taking the vaccine was worse than the ones who took it, making the whole effort worth it.
