It seems Tom Brady can’t stay away from the cultural spotlight.

The NFL offseason is well underway, but Brady, the Super Bowl-winning Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback continues to stir conversation.

This time, it’s completely outside of his usual football comfort zone.

Brady is talking bitcoin. Loudly.

The 43-year-old quarterback altered his Twitter picture — from a relaxed version of himself to one with his eyes taking on a laser-shooting visage.

Sure, the QB has a laser focus, but there’s more to this.

According to Martin Young of Cointelegraph, “The laser eyes meme that initially swept across crypto social media in February 2021 saw crypto influencers, industry leaders and regular users change their Twitter profile pictures to include laser eyes. The fad was to signify support for Bitcoin’s price surging until it hit $100,000.”

This Brady guy knows his cultural references, and his actions attract attention.

He did the football title thing, then put another 100 percent into the celebratory boat parade, tossing the Lombardi Trophy over open water (apologizing later).

The non-fungible token (NFT) trend didn’t escape him, either. He started an NFT company called Autograph and that is sure to be a moneymaking big deal.

Brady and fellow businessman-looking-for-valuable-startup-opportunities Richard Rosenblatt, an entrepreneur, are co-chairs in the venture that is said to soon feature interactive experiences, celebrated product drops, well-stocked auctions and plenty more.

Brady is not one to ignore business opportunities, he’s loaded (reminder: his wife, Gisele, is doing fine with her modeling/business pursuits) and he’s a serious competitor.

So if we know Tom Brady, we know he wouldn’t let the potentially lucrative bitcoin train leave the station without him.
