The horrific school shooting in May at an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas, shined a spotlight on a school board that did not have its finest hours after the tragedy.

Most rational Americans could only shake their heads through clenched teeth at the absolute clown show that appeared to be on display.  The disgraced school police chief, Pete Arredondo, who oversaw the disastrous and pathetic response by authorities at Robb Elementary that resulted in the deaths of 19 children, had somehow kept his job.

Until Wednesday, when the board unanimously voted to fire the disgraced cop, who didn’t even bother to attend the meeting because he said he feared for his safety.

Incredibly, Arredondo’s attorney named George Hyde, released a statement that had to rekindle the anger parents of the victims had to feel, knowing the cowardly and shamed cop was not only still employed but making demands.

“Chief Arredondo will not participate in his own illegal and unconstitutional public lynching and respectfully requests the Board immediately reinstate him, with all backpay and benefits and close the complaint as unfounded.”

The school board told both the attorney and his shamed client to pound sand. They met for an hour before deciding to cut ties from Arredondo.

An investigation revealed that almost 400 law enforcement officers responded to the scene of the shooting. Still, the killer was able to stay in the classroom for 77 minutes before officers breached the door and finally killed him.
