It’s like walking into the Smithsonian and helping yourself to Thomas Edison’s first lightbulb.

Bonhams is auctioning off a cool piece of tech history; the Macintosh SE Steve Jobs had back in 1987.

It comes with the original keyboard, mouse, and hard drive that can support 20MB of memory.  But wait, there’s more. This computer is loaded with notes that Jobs wrote detailing his weekly tasks, travel schedule, plans for recruiting new employees, and one note describing a missed meeting with the Prince of Wales at the time, who is now known as King Charles III.

Jobs departed Apple in 1985 and didn’t return for ten years. During that time, he founded NeXT Computers, which pioneered the world’s first online food delivery system, according to a story in Hi Consumption.

Jobs left there to help make billions as one of the three co-founders of a little company called Pixel Animation Studios.

The Macintosh SE was sold by Apple from 1987 – 1990 and was a significant upgrade over the Macintosh Plus. It was introduced at the AppleWorld conference on March 2, 1987.

Now to the important part; just how much will the bidding start at for a chance to own this historical relic? Bonham will start the bidding at $200,000, and you have until October 25 to bid.
